Welcome to the Tennessee Valley Chapter of SOLE!

SOLE-The International Society of Logistics is a non-profit international professional society composed of individuals organized to enhance the art and science of logistics technology, education and management. You can find more information about SOLE at the international web site http://www.sole.org.

SOLE was founded in 1966 as the Society of Logistics Engineers. There are currently over 90 SOLE chapters in over thirty countries throughout the world. Chapters conduct technical meetings, symposia and workshops, all designed to provide the SOLE member with opportunities for professional advancement.

SOLE also works very closely with educational institutions throughout the world. The Society, through its individual members, local chapters and its Education Committee has fostered the development and implementation of logistics oriented courses and graduate and undergraduate curricula.

The Tennessee Valley Chapter of SOLE (District 5, Chapter 2) has a very strong and active membership that draws from industry, academia, NASA, and Department of Defense logistics communities. We conduct monthly luncheon meetings that feature guest speakers presenting topical subjects related to logistics.  We host periodic conferences and symposia, often in cooperation with other local technical societies.  The chapter also sponsors periodic plant and government agency tours. We conduct Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) Prep Courses and administer the CPL exam twice a year.  Most of all, SOLE provides a forum for networking, problem solving, and freindship building among the logistics professionals throughout the region.
